Personal Prayer

If you need help to pray on your own, you may like to start by thinking about God's power, and how awesome He is. It would probably help to think of some things you can thank Him for in your own life.

Then maybe you will feel able to talk to Him about all sorts of things. Perhaps you can bring some very big things before Him, like global warming and the environment, world problems like poverty and hunger.

Then more local cares - like the folk in your street, your neighbours and family.

And finally, with your own concerns in perspective, lay your own life before God in prayer. He knows and cares and loves you ... invite Him to help. May you find God through prayer.

The Methodist Church provides a great way to help you with Prayer of the Day.

You may like to draw upon some prayer help from another Anglican Methodist Partnership in Bedford - http://www.thisischurch.com/prayer/shortprayers.htm

Sometimes we find it very hard to pray on our own At times like that some people could find it helpful to quietly pray through one of  the following CofE liturgies for today. Choose either the Contemporary of Tradional version and click on the link.

Common Worship, Contemporary
Prayer Book, Traditional
