Churches Together in Bitterne

The Anglican/Methodist Partnership is fully involved in the activities of Churches Together in Bitterne, along with the United Reformed Church and the Roman Catholic Church of Christ the King & St Colman.

We believe that it is important to work together for the growth of God’s kingdom.

Leaflets are delivered throughout the parish before Christmas and Easter, giving information about services in all the churches.

Regular events organised by CTIB include the following:
Christmas Carols in the precinct

  • A four week study course in Lent
  • A joint service and Walk of Witness on Good Friday
  • A joint service at the start of Christian Aid Week and organisation of the house-to-house collection
  • Collection of non-perishable food for Basics Bank outside the local supermarket
  • Four joint evening services in July/August.
  • Visit to Glenlee, a local council-run Care Home, to take a service each month.
  • The Luncheon Club, held twice a month in the Wesley Centre, is organised under the umbrella of CTIB

The aims of Churches Together in Bitterne (CTIB) are to bear a united Christian witness to the people of Bitterne, helping them to see that the Church is people not buildings, and strengthening our outreach.
